How the mimosa calculator works
It plans 1.5 drinks per guest for each hour of the party, with each mimosa at about 6 ounces. A standard 750 ml bottle of sparkling wine holds about 25 ounces, and a half-gallon carton of juice holds 64 ounces. The mix you pick decides how much of each drink is bubbly versus juice.
Tips for a mimosa bar
- Chill the bubbly and juice the night before; add ice to the juice, never to the glass.
- Pour the sparkling wine first, then top with juice, so it doesn't foam over.
- Offer two or three juices: orange, pineapple and cranberry cover most tastes.
- Set out a zero-proof bottle (sparkling white grape juice or sparkling water) for non-drinkers.
- Round up one bottle: an unopened bottle keeps; running out mid-brunch doesn't.
Common questions
How many mimosas are in one bottle?
With a half-and-half mix, one 750 ml bottle makes about 8 mimosas at 6 ounces each.
What sparkling wine is best for mimosas?
A dry, inexpensive sparkling wine such as cava or prosecco. The juice covers subtle flavors, so save the expensive Champagne for toasting.
